It’s strange having your own webpage. Mine is RalphMayhew.com, it’s for leaders and yes it’s written by me, Ralph Mayhew – no surprises there! The longer I lead the more I learn and the more I learn the more I think others can be helped from what I’ve learned. If you’re like me you constantly feel out of your depth, so I hope together we might discover better ways to help other become all they can be.
WHAT I BELEIVE
I believe every person matters to God and every person has something wonderful to contribute to the lives of others. To discover this is to discover your calling, and once discovered a calling should be wholeheartedly surrendered to.
I believe leadership isn’t about you, it’s about God who calls you, the cause He invites you to champion and the people He entrusts you with. To lead is to serve.
I believe people will have a fuller experience of life with Jesus in the centre of it, but the reality of this in a person’s life never alters their value.
I believe the local church is the hope of the world. It is the full expression of the heart of God and the hands, feet and voice of Christ. I will give my life to seeing the church become all God intends it to be.
I believe that a leader’s impact and influence is not determined by the number of people following them but by the integrity with which they lead.
I believe that rest is good and wonderful and our society would change for the better if we all rested just a little more. Don’t get caught up in what you think you need to do, but in what God has put you on earth to do and be.
I believe we can push ourselves more than we usually do. There is more inside of a person that they realise and placing ourselves under pressure expands our capacity and satisfies out potential. Don’t be afraid to embrace new challenges and feel out of your depth
I believe learning should be a life long journey and we can learn from everyone if we would pause long enough to do so.
I’m Ralph Mayhew and I love Jesus with an ever increasing gratitude. To follow him is the total desire of my heart. I have thoroughly enjoyed being married to Lyndal for over 15 years. We have a daughter Azaria, and son Hamish who constantly keep us entertained. They are spectacular in so many ways!
I like to run about once a month and don’t like doing it the rest of the time, but it’s such a valuable discipline. I’m a mad keen fisherman and love living on the Gold Coast, in Queensland, Australia.
I was ordained a Minister in the Uniting Church in Australia 14 years ago. That journey has been enriching and I have learned so much about leadership in and out of the church.
Living in what must be the best place on the planet, the Gold Coast, I’m about to start a new church. I have been on the Gold Coast for 9 years to date and have been blessed to pastor in a variety of ways since moving here.
I have authored and published three books which can be found on the BOOKS tab above.
The Qualification Stuff
Upon graduating high school, my first qualification was a Bachelor in Youth Work from RMIT in Melbourne, after which I worked for a few years. Then, feeling called into full time ministry, I earned a Bachelor in Theology and an Advanced Diploma in Ministry from Melbourne College of Divinity. Since commencing full time ministry I have served on Willow Creek’s Global Leadership Summit Planning Team, have graduated the Arrow Leadership program, attained my TAE qualifications and have just finished a Masters in Christian Leadership through ACOM with Sydney College of Divinity. I have recently become an adjunct lecturer for Adelaide College of Divinity.
That’s me! Thank you for reading. I’d love to know if there is anything I can do to serve you. Please feel free to email me at email@example.com.
